The African Child Policy Forum Runs for Child Rights

On November 28, 2004 the 4th edition of Africa 's largest public sporting event took place: the 10-km long Great Ethiopian Run . Close to 25,000 runners from over 50 different countries participated in this promotional event, which was initiated by one of the world's greatest athletes: multiple world- and Olympic champion Haile Gebreselassie . Ethiopia 's Prime Minister, the honourable Mr. Melses Zenawi addressed the crowd before the start of the Run and reminded all about the shared responsibility to fight the HIV/Aids pandemic.

Amongst the masses and clearly identifiable by their distinctive blue-and-white caps where some twenty representatives of the African Child Policy Forum. The Forum's staff were Running for Child Rights, displaying the message ‘Children 1 st Africa '. With the fastest time of 55 minutes amongst them, they proved that being motivated to Run for Children's Rights can actually give you wings!
