The Children and the Law Programme at ACPF conducts comprehensive research and produces publications on the harmonisation of laws on children in Africa. The studies aim to identify the legal and policy framework of all African countries and provide succinct summaries on the progress made, the gaps remaining and the prospects in aligning laws and policies on children with international and regional standards in the respective countries.
Below are researches that summarise the status of the laws and policies of all the 54 African countries in relation to 25 key thematic areas that relate to children's rights. These summaries provide clear information on the existing legal protection of children's rights in light of international and regional standards.
